Have you been having a hard time working through grief?

Today we have Heidi McLaughlin, an author, speaker and someone who has been widowed twice.  Heidi shares with us how this past year has looked like for her and how she learned that she really needed human connection and what she did to connect with others since she lives on her own.  One of the reasons I wanted to have her on is because she wrote a book called Fresh Joy and I just love her attitude on life. So even if you haven’t lost someone this past year, maybe you are grieving the life you had prior to COVID, maybe life changed drastically for you in a way you didn’t want and dealing with that grief.  Heidi talks about how she worked through her grief and how it was hard and painful but she knew she wanted to be joyful again.  She also realized that she needed not only grief counseling but needed to go to trauma counseling and how that made such a huge difference in her life.  Lastly, she mentioned that she learned she had to ask for help, and not to wait for people to connect with her that if she wanted to feel connected she took it upon herself to reach out. One topic that stood out to me is when she told us that peace is the foundation of finding joy. Hear what she says about this topic and more on the podcast.
